19th National Career Exhibition 2017

The National Career Exhibition is seen as an integral part of the UAE government’s initiatives to successfully integrate national manpower into the country’s workforce. By bringing together leading public and private establishments in the country at a single place, the exhibition provides thousands of job and training opportunities for Emirati youth.

The show also enjoys active patronage of His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of the UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. Besides, it has the support of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Emirates Institute for Banking & Financial Studies.

Leading organisations from both the public and private sectors have been enthusiastic in offering their support to the show. The UAE Armed Forces, Sharjah Islamic Bank, Commercial Bank of Dubai and National Bank of Abu Dhabi are some of the institutions that have continuously associated with the National Career Show.

WHY IS IT UNIQUE

The significance of the Exhibition can be gauged from the fact that it enjoys the support, guidance and patronage of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of the UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.

The show also counts on the backing of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Emirates Institute for the Banking & Financial Studies and Human Resources Development Committee in the Banking Sector.

The primary aim of the show is to promote and enhance the integration of national manpower into the country’s workforce, and in the process help assist the government in its bid to increase the number of its citizens employed in the private sector tenfold by 2021.

 

NEW LOGO,NEW STRATEGY

Exhibition now has a new logo, signifying the renewed focus on Emiratisation and empowerment of the national youth. Apart from employment openings, the new approach encompasses several aspects like education, training, recruitment, skill enhancement, retention and career growth.


FACTS & FIGURES
The UAE is discussing new amendments to its labor laws to encourage more Emiratis to move from being employed in the public sector to the private sector
The Federal National Council has proposed a Supreme Emiratisation Council to set long-term policies on the integration of citizens into the country’s workforce
The Emirati workforce in the insurance industry is being increased from 8.9% to 15%
Emiratisation in national banks stands at 34%, and 21% in other banks
Emiratisation in the UAE’s media sector stands at over 25%

For the previous edition, new participants included Federal Electricity & Water Authority (Fewa), Department of e-Government – Sharjah, Ministry of Health and Dubai Parks & Resorts, among others.

The 18th National Career Exhibition held at Expo Centre Sharjah from February 10 to 12, 2016,
showcased thousands of training and career opportunities in the country’s flourishing banking and financial sector, government sector, other public & private sector firms, the UAE Armed Forces and free zones. It hosted more than 80 exhibitors and attracted 13,106 visitors during its three-day run.
